Cork County Childcare Committee are delighted to invite childminders to a workshop on Sensory Play with guest presenter Shannan Mulroony from Maia Purposeful Play on Saturday 14th June from 10.00am – 12.30pm.  The venue will be decided based on the locations of those interested in attending.

Childminders will embark on a journey of open-ended, purposeful play and will get an insightful overview of sensory play setups and how they are carefully designed to nurture different aspects of children's development. From cognitive and language skills to motor development and social-emotional growth, each setup is a treasure trove of educational possibilities for childminders and children.

To continue the learning beyond the session, each childminder will receive a bespoke pack filled with valuable resources. This pack will include research-based information on some topics discussed during the workshop. There will be recipe cards for sensory bases, offering diverse textures and experiences which can easily be incorporated into children's play which spark their imaginations and encourage sensory exploration.  Childminders will also receive a Tuff Tray and a book on Tuff Tray ideas.
